Sounds like you may have to reload windows, so Yes, your first step is to get it to boot off the CD. When you first turn on your computer you have to go into the BIOS by rapidly hitting the <Delete> key. There is a chance it is another key which would be F1, F2, or Esc. Once in here you should see a "boot menu" where you can change the first boot option to "CD" Exit with Saving. This will then enable the computer to first boot off the CD. One thing you can also try is rapidly hit "F8" and you will get a windows menu before you see the windows screen. Try the "Last know good configuration" option to see if that will get you back into windows. Also you can go to the safe mode and once in there go to Start-->Accessories-->System tools--> system restore. Then pick a date when you know the computer was working fine and hopefully it should boot back up fine. Good luck
