Try checking the spark arrestor inside the muffler. They often get clogged and will not allow the exhaust to escape easily. I had this same issue and spent bou coup cash trying to fix the carb and intake side, then when I was going to check the compression, I removed the 3 screws on the muffler cover and 3 more screws on the spark arrestor and found the little screen was clogged. I cleaned it with carb cleaner and ... VOILA...problem solved. I hope this helps. If you call the company they will recommend a carb kit. Try the spark arrestor first (cheaper and easier, too).
