It seems that the CMOS is corrupted. You need to login to it not sure on your laptop if it is the "DEL" button or "F2" or "ESC" it should tell you that at boot. if you are able to open the CMOs screen, go to save "Default settings" then save and exit and try again. the battery may be bad and it will not charge. try to take it off while the computer is plugged in but in the off mode... check to see if taking the battery will turn off the charging led if it does not work when you take the batter off and it does not come on when you put it back, then the problem is not the battery, but the charging system inside the laptop, and this is a serious issue and need a tech to get it fixed.
