Have you tried booting the computer into the "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking"?
If NOT, then try that first. There could be a possibility that drivers which you have installed for the graphics card, is causing the computer to crash. In any of the safe mode options, the basic drivers will be used to boot the computer and it should work. Depending upon that, we can troubleshoot further.
