Uninstall the WiFi Adapter totally from the System first,
Then go to "scan for hardware changes",
This will bring up a prompt to install the new hardware found (Which is your Wifi Adapter).
If it doesn't install automatically, then navigate and go to where the driver is located on your system hard drive or flash drive.
After this, ensure that it is On, then Scan for wireless networks.
It should work like that.
(In case you dont know how to uninstall the Adapter, Right-Click on my computer Icon, Properties, Device Manager, then select the Adapter under network adapters, and right click on it, then select uninstall.)

Hello,
The first thing that I would advise you to do is,
Uninstall the WiFi Adapter totally from the System first,
Then go to "scan for hardware changes",
This will bring up a prompt to install the new hardware found (Which is your Wifi Adapter).
Hope this helps.
