There is a mis-match between what the PC thinks is in the 2nd tray and what the printer says is in the 2nd tray. This can be something like the paper size or paper type. An example would be if your 2nd tray is set for legal size and your PC is trying to print a letter size page there is a mismatch so the printer will make you "force" it to print to that tray. It could also be something like the printer's 2nd tray is set to letterhead or something other than plain paper.
