When making a greeting card, I would like to cut out something on the card and put a photo in it place. When I try to do this everything else deletes and the thing I was trying to cut out is the only thing that stays. What am I doing wrong?

I don't use this program I use Photoshop. If they are anything alike they are probably created in layers. You are prrobably selecting the wrong layer. try with only a couple of layers and see if you can selete the one you want. good luck
