When my jbl psw-d112 is on it will run just fine for a few min then it will sound like the speaker is blown. the green power light that is next to the vol level knob starts to turn red. What does this mean?

That model is known to have issues with the amps.Your problem is caused by a couple of components on the board shorting out.If you pull the amp out you will find on the large board behind the speaker terminal a couple of burned components.
The easiest fix is to buy a Bash 300w amp from Parts Express and replace the original amp.The Bash amp fits pretty well except that it is about an inch shorter.You can fill the hole with some mdf and have a sub that actually performs better than the original and with less heat build up as it is digital.Hope this helps,it's not complicated really.
