When someone tries to call me on my mobile it goes straifgt to voicemail and says that I am not available to take the call How do I clear this - It has never happenede before and I have not changed any settings

Open the call settings and scroll to see "divert all calls when busy" Now select "cancel all diverts " to reset the phone. You can also reset your phone to the default factory settings.
If this wont work call the service provider's call centre to confirm if there is a system divert activated to your voice mail.
