When starting from a stop, the engine coughs and will not accelerate. If you apply acceleration VERY slowly, it will accelerate. When in park, you can rev the motor with no hesitation. I have changed all of the things I know to and now have reached the end of my rope. Replaced: PLUGS, FUEL FILTER, INJECTORS, COIL, IGNITION MODULE IN DISTRIBUTOR, ECM UNDER SEAT, MAP SENSOR ON RIGHT SIDE OF ENGINE, SENSORS FOR INJECTORS, CHECKED DISTRIBUTOR (NO CRACKS OR ARC MARKS), FUEL PRESSURE IS 9 LBS
make sure u don't have a restricted exhaust, domn't assume anything, yopu could aldso have a timing chain that jumped a tooth, so verify the base timing is correct.make sure u don't have a restricted exhaust, domn't assume anything, yopu could aldso have a timing chain that jumped a tooth, so verify the base timing is correct.

Either your transmission is slipping, you may need tranny fluid.. or you may have an air leak in your exhaust or intake.. i just went through this in my bmw. replaced all that **** and it was air leak under intake :) the only other thing i would check is compression,, you may be losing compression under head gasket area.. so check compression in all your cylinders.. once you check the compression and tranny fluid jump back on and email me at [email protected] and we will go from there.. i am online all the time as its my job :) - Derek Carden [email protected]
It is not the transmission. It was rebuilt about 60K miles ago. Fluid is good and it is not slipping. Have pulled golf carts on trailer. Ok if you accelerate very slowly. once it is up to speed, it is ok until a load is placed on it. Developed this problem suddenly, therefore it is more likely related to something else. I change ALL the vacuum lines. It revs up great without a load so I do not suspect a vacuum leak. I used propane out of a rubber tube and did not get any rev change by moving the tube all over the top of the engine. It is not the transmission. It was rebuilt about 60K miles ago. have you tried the fuel pump sock? the check engine light come on?could me MAF sensor or CPS cam position sensor gone bad.. You check tranny fluid? And just cause it happens suddenly, doesnt mean its not a head gasket leak.. lol.. what do you think it happens over night?? it happens suddenly, and you can usually start ur car and just not accelerate :)

Did u replace the spark plug wires? because it is either that or u have low fuel pressure. please provide year and engine size
