When the cord is plugged al l the way in its phasing and has little bass response. Only when plugged partially in or half way do they go back to normal

If you click my user name you will find a tip about headphones and plug problems. HOWEVER first check it's not the device socket that is faulty, by trying a different pair of headphones.
