When the router is connected to Modem, only the power and cable lights lit up on modem? We can not detect our wireless network on our laptop. When we are setting up LAN directly from out modem, internet is working fine. Problem seems to be with the router

If you have a exterior modem from a company like at&t or verizon,you don't need a router.The modem will work for your wired connection and to laptops wireless.You just need to change settings on the computer,or call the phone company and they will talk you through it.Take the router back and get your money for it.
