When turned on it say's protect
My receiver stopped working so i opened it up and i had two fuses blown. i replaced them with new fuses. when i turn on the receiver it goes to protect.is there a reset button i have to push?

If all the speakers are connected ( at both ends)per the manual and the unit still goes into standby then one or more audio power out components is bad
Take out all of your speaker wires on amplifier and on speakers and rewire them all. it is a crossed wire. a stray wire from the negative side is contacting the positive terminal either on the amplifier side or speaker side so just make sure to redo them all and make nice good tight twists when connecting.
if you have binding posts meaning you turn a screw to tighten the wires just make sure the wires dont show through the other side ( 1/8 inch tops) where it might hit the other binding post.
another diagnosis is to make sure if unit is not defective by removing all speaker wires from back of unit. yes i did say all speaker wires. Now try to turn volume up and see if it is internal problem. If you get a protect this way this means the unit is in need of service or replacing
