When we changed the access code on the garage door opener the opener mounted in the garage quit working. I have to use the opener in the car or the outside pad to open and close the garage

Make sure you didn't accidently knock a wire off the rear of the motor unit. The wires connect to terminals 1 and 2 for the wall control.
