When we hook the wireless router to the modem and computer, we cannot access the internet. AS soon as we unplug it and put the computer and modem back the way it was, we can get back on the internet. How can we get the wireless router set up and still be able to use the internet?
Ok... this is pretty simple... take a pen (or pencil) and (while it's still plugged in) hold down the reset button in the back... should be a hole in the back of the router... you have to hold it for like 2 minutes... it doesn't want to reset... after that you will have successfully reset your router (it's setting it back to factory defaults)... if you still have problems... make sure that the modem is hooked in to the router in the correct port... (it should be the one that says internet)... it'll probably be away from the others... then hook the computer into port 1...2...3...4... take your pick it doesn't matter... I've got some more ideas if you still have problems...
Log into the router so you can see the settings. Somewhere under WAN settings there should be something for you to "clone MAC address" click on that so the router clones the MAC address from the computer and this should work.
