When you turn on the heater it does not light. piolet light is on. if I conect the two post connected to thermostat the burner will light, I disconnect the two and it stays lighted. If I turn off the heat and then if I try to light with Theromstat it wont

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. The problem then seems to be with the thermostat. If you have an ohm meter you can verify by attaching the ohm meter to the thermostat and turning it up if there is resistance when the thermostat is turned up then the thermostat is okay if the resistance is infinite then the thermostat is not working.
