The short hose with the attached holders for the main hose wand and long crevice tool (all one piece) is severely cracked. The part is also used on models UV410, UV400, NV44. I would prefer a replacement part, but the crack is fairly near the floor brush end. Can I cut off the bad part and not affect the performance of the vacuum?
