The D55 appears to be a non-standard Mustek model, probably exclusive to a particular store group or home shopping channel. Mustek don't mention the model at all on any of their websites worldwide that I've been able to search so it's clear that they want aftersales support to be the responsibility of the retailer.
Have a look at the specifications for the identical looking GSmart D50 at the first web address below, if your camera specifications are mostly the same then the D55 is a cut price D50 with a 2.1 megapixel sensor replacoing the 3.1MP sensor of the D50. Note that in many markets the D55 is advertised as a 5.2MP camera and the D50 as a 6.2MP model. Such claims are misleading as they fail to mention that the image has been digitally interpolated to increase the apparent resolution, but it's always a fudge and should be turned off in the camera menu.
If I'm right about the shared basis of the D55 and D50 then Mustek do not support the camera with a Vista driver but you may be able to run the XP driver using XP Compatibility Mode. The second web address shows how to try this but contrary to what Microsoft would have you believe it's frequently unsuccesful.
