At&t use a different band as Verizon uses CDMA and at&t uses GSM also some Verizon phones do not allow you to change the SIM card. You could also go into a at&t store and ask if they support your phone or go to a Verizon wireless store to ask if they know where the SIM card slot is.
The Palm Pixi won't work on AT&T. They use a different standard for their phone service. You can't use that phone on AT&T for the same reason you can't use an iPhone on Sprint or Verizon. As an analogy, it's like you're trying to use a TV to listen to the radio.
