Where does the fourth (copper wire connect)
New switch has three screw connections, 2 on one side and ground, where does the 4th coppy wire connect. On my old switch there is a 4th screw

The 4-way terminals are labelled “In” and “Out” (two of each). The mechanics of this switch are simple, in that they either switch the travellers straight through, or criss-cross them.
(2) white wires - 1 on each silver terminal
(2) black wires - 1 on each brass terminal

are you sure you have a 4 way switch?? or need a 3way instead??
if you purchased a switch with 3 terminals - it is only a dual pole switch.
