where I can find this. Or if anyone has any other ideas on what else the problem might be. Have had this problem since I bought it from the dealership, took it back 3 times for them to fix and they would return saying it's fixed but would just continue doing the same stalling thing. Also, after having it 6 months or so, The "P"ark position in the gear box is not working, I have to put my car into "N"eutral to start it. Can put it in the Park position but the light doesn't come on and it doesn't work I have to put the handbrake on also. Have been told it's an adjuster pin or something? If anybody has any advice?
Hi Dawn not sure if this fault has been solved yet? It sounds like two separate faults i don't think there connected. It would be a help if your friend had a code reader to see why the engine light comes on this may give a clue to what is going on. A stab in the dark disconnect the maf sensor and try. The ECU will set a default setting and the car will run as if it is connected. If this rectifies the starting/running issues fit a new maf sensor do not just leave it disconnected. If the fault remains a code reader needs to be hooked up to diagnose what is bringing on the engine light and that needs to be rectified 1st.The engine and transmission should run in harmony with each other so I wouldn't completely rule out the transmission issue being connected. The MAF sensor is on the air intake to the Air filter box Good luck
