Hello jack isuzu If you have a manual trans. with a 3.2 it's on top of the trans. if you have a 2.2 it's on the right side of the trans. My diagram does not show a seperate switch for the backup lights on an automatic transmission, it may be part of the trans. gear position switch on the left side of the transmission. Look for a red+yellow wire from the rear of the truck to the transmission, this wire runs from the backup lights and you should be able to follow it back to the switch. Hope this is helpful.
One big problem after replacing the switch - now I can't get the tranny to go into reverse or 5th gear. Nothing mentioned in the Haynes manual about this either.
