Where is the main switch to shut off the power in the house? I was vacuuming and the power went out in various areas around my condo. I think I have isolated the breaker and want to change it but I do not see the main power switch to shut off all the power. Is it behind the panel?
In some condos/apartments the main breakers are located outside. This is because the meter and incoming service are some distance from the local panel. Perhaps your breaker isn't bad, but the additional load of the vacuum caused it to "trip" Unlike some brands the Bryant don't show a trip indication other than the handle moving. Try turning this breaker completely off, ( if it was tripped, it will click) then turn it back on. If you do locate the main outside, and decide to change the breaker inside, be sure to "lock out" the main disconnect while you're working on the panel.
