Where to install three small parts in EV-S7000 Mechanical Block
Hi,
I had to remove the mechanical block in order to check the sensors in my EV-S7000 VCR. I am trying to put them back together. Even though I have a poor copy of the service manual still have problem with three parts:
Part# 3-954-007-01 LEVER SLIDE PLATE DRIVING.
Part# 3-953-973-01 ARM PENDULUM COMPULSION
The last part is a small plastic part with a spring attached to it, I can’t recognize the part with my bad quality copy.
I appreciate any help you can give me to reinstall these parts.
Thanks.

Hello friend,
As you provide a vote on each expert contributing to your answer you will no longer be able to see any comments they make additionally and individually.
I repaired VCRs and the CAMs also, we all mostly stopped doing this as VCRs first became disposable and are not obsolete.
Be very very careful handling the spring. It is engineered to provided a specific amount of tension. Any mishandling and this spring could alter that value and it will diverge from the engineer's design.
Assembling the parts is one thing, frankly. Then you have to apply Timing to the tape path. This is where springs connected to parts apply tension so the tape does not lag or exceed the drum speed. Otherwise the mechanism will eat tape or break tape; one or the other.
You have the email address for WelcomeJee. You may rely on him to assist you.
The ONLY reason I am posting this here to you is to suggest to you that Welcome Jee is fully capable of helping you get this assembled correctly and timed correctly.
This problem of yours is difficult enough to deal with on our benches. Since you will be assisted by email only its going to be hard to impossible and I want to encourage you to stick with Jee to see this through to the end.
Sadly, for the ten dollars you paid, but can get refunded or not even charged unless you gtive an expert a Fixed vote, WE would only earn six dollars. We all work in our fields for fees many many times higher fees than this. We ARE here to help though because we WANT to help people. It is not about the money. And should you want to send Jee money, should this all get finished satisfactorily in the long run, you would be getting him in trouble I believe. You would have to ask for dispensation from FixYa to give him money, even a tip... for helping.
I just wanted to point these things out as you have given everyone a vote so far. Allow Jee to help you via email. I believe our Community Manager will understand the circumstances here.
The very best of luck to you and please don't give up until its Fixed, we won't.

Worldvet

Alright, being Sony guy, I can help you to assemble Hi-8 mechanism of EV-S7000
Please post few snaps of mechanism to understand me the situation and mechanism type. Your Hi-8 player is 1994 model, pretty old one. No electronics (pdf) manual is available but I'm sure I have it in paper form.
Good Luck.
Thanks for pics,
Will reply you soon.
Hi Dear Golesof,
I got your message and replied you in same post.
Once I receive pictures of subject mechanism, it would be easy to understand how to assemble it and set timings.
Thanks for message.
@ Hello Dear Worldvet,
Thank you very much on such nice and beautiful comments.
I will try my best to prove myself as you think about me. I do appreciate your remarks.
Best of Luck mate.
To fit the mechanic parts you will need the diagrams on service manual.
Service manual for your unit is not available for free download.
You can get it herer for a small fee.
If I get there I am not gonna need the repair manual, I donot have repair manual for your unit. Is difficult following you without it, I used a different model to give you an idea of what part you are dealing with.
Even if schematics are different, and shapes are slightly different, the bigger part looks like the TG1 assy 758, The v shaped at right is clip 763. In your diagrams they have different numbers, you can track them and check if I am right, if we cannot proceed in this way, you may need to post here your diagrams if you want more help.
See here:
There the TG1 assembly looks incomplete, check it in your diagram.
