Ok, I'm not new to using subs and I'm not new to sound production, however I have limited cash and want to get the best I can for my money. Everyone has their own opinions that their sub is the best, I thought I'd put this to the crowd and see what response I'd get!

The Scenario.....

5 Piece Covers Function Band, playing soul to hard rock... quite a variation. In the past we when we'd played big function rooms we used a cheap and nasty sub with poor x-overs, result, a blown top.
Since then we bought an active system with 15" tops and likewise for monitors. We borrowed carlsbro subs from a friend as and when we played bigger venues. Subs are worth their weight in gold as the thickness in sound is priceless.
We are now looking to buy a set ourselves to prevent the begging phone calls.
Options are
Mackie SWA1501 and 18's
JBL Eons
db Technologies 15Sub.

They're all invariable in the same price bracket, we just don't know which represents best sound for money!

Any assistance or others we should look at, bearing in mind we need to buy quick as we have a succession of Weddings to play, would be appreciated
