In the start menu... goto computer... then properties... then advanced system menu then startup and recovery and then press settings... then turn autorestart off... the procedures may be slightly different for xp and 98 and windows 7....
another possibility is that your version of windows is not legit and its just killing your sessions... in which case get a legit version of windows...
another is that you have a serious virus... in which case you need to call a specialist...

CLICK F8 when the system is starting and then click on Last know good configuration .if still it is not starting then use safe mode and restore it using system restore OR just install a fresh copy of windows
