The door latch assembly must be replaced if an error code appears on the display prior to the jamming of the door. The code is either "Fdl" or "Fdu". Please let me know if that is the case.
There is a pull tab located at the bottom of the door latch assembly purposely for manually releasing the door by pulling it down. Here's how to access it:
Lean the washer on its back against the wall.
Remove the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer to remove the lower panel under the door.
Reach the tab with your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right side and pull it down.
Pull the door to open it.
Inspect and clean the door latch for any material or dirt that causes the glitch.
