Try and get the bike on a center stand or have a friend hold it for you. Looking underneath, you will see where the stand (in the down position) is pressing a small cylinder type micro switch up to tell the electrics the stand is down. You will also see all the grease from the chain sitting on it (cause of your problem!). Retract the stand so the switch pops out, clean all the muck of it and whack some graphite based lubricant on it...Problem fixed! The bike wont think the stand is down all the time....
