The wiring on the transformers plug or the wall socket in the garage might be wired wrong. black is hot white is not, 110 v plug USE a to touch power test light or a voltmeter and compare power from kitchen and garage outlets the plugs wide blade/prong should show no light or voltage when checked to the gound, if it does the wall plug is wired wrong. hope this helps vote up 4 the= Jay the pool pump motor repair guy Longwood FL
