Why does my ford ranger not shift automatically.it will shift fine if i start in first then second then drive but if i try to start in drive no go

Timothy, Open circuit in electrical system, failed PCM/TCM, faulty or stuck shift solenoid, failed speed sensor. Have checked for diagnostic codes to aide in diagnosing and a good transmission tech. give estimate on repair.
