We have had many problems in our area with fuel in small engines. Lawn mowers, generators etc. There are many of these small engines that do not run well with the alcohol in the gas these days. My neighbor's generac was doing the exact same thing and he put some fuel additive in the gas. I recommend Sea Foam. Solved the problem. It seems that the grain alcohol in the fuel now turns to a vapor at a lower temperature and allot of these engines run warm enough that they vapor lock. Hope this helps.

Does it stall when open the choke? If yes, thoroughly clean the carb.
