Why does my Janome work great almost through a whole quilt then stop working at all?
It sews fine for weeks, then stops sewing. Makes a screeching sound and has thread everywhere on the bottom side. Won't sew one stitch when that happens. I have taken the plate off and cleaned it three times.

Sounds like your bobbin case has moved out of position, check this by removing the metal plate (two screws) then look at the black case, it should have a marking which lines up with a little toggle front right, two little triangles on mine but your model may be slightly different. The bobbin case is held in by a magnet and if the needle is getting loaded up with heavy project, this can dislodge the case a little. lift it out, clean underneath, then place back into position and replace the needle plate. New needle and check your threading also.
Hope this helps.
