Why does my TV turn on then off when i turn it on either by the remote control or the power button on the TV?
Model Number NS-42PDP. 9 years old. Had the power supply replaced in 2011. I replaced the Y-sus board and Y-buffer board two weeks ago. I replaced them cause first there was just a splash of color on the screen and the TV stayed on for about 10 seconds then shut off with a loud pop. The pop came from the Y-sus board. after replacing the 2 boards the TV just comes on for 2 seconds then clicks off. I tried disconnecting the Y-sus board and the Z-sus board sepertly and it still comes on then off. I put the old boards back in and same thing, on then off after 2 seconds. the red standby light on front panel is on then turns green then back to red. I see no bad capacitors on any boards or any discoloration of any parts. I don't understand why there is a different issue after I replaced the 2 boards from the first issue. I have triple checked all the connections to make sure they are on correctly. I hope someone can help me with this problem. Thank you, Rich

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
So the problem is in the main board and not in the power supply board
