Why does new furnance with propane conversion have yellow flames?
I have a new Goodman 2-stage 95% gas furnace GCH95 that I converted to propane with the LPM-06 conversion kit. The furnace ignites with a Whoomp , blowing the door out, rattling the label. The flame center turns yellow half way down and by the time is reaches the curve it is all yellow. After it runs 3 minutes flames all yellow. Gas inlet pressure is 13.2 dropping to 12.5 when running. Pressure for the stages are low 6 w.c., high 9.8 w.c. Yellow flame is normally not enough air. I have removed vent/flue pipe and briefly run with door off. No change in flame. Is this a valid test to rule out my air supply and venting? Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the kit included smaller sized orifice's and spring kit for the gas valve. The number on each orifice should be cross referenced with total btu's rating of the furnace. It does seem like there is too much fuel or not enough air intake (combustion air). The inches of W.C. seem fine, but you still may be getting too much volume of fuel with too large of sized orifice's. Hope that helps
Sorry my comment went into Testimonial. The orifice that came out was #43. The ones in the conversion kit were #55. I thought if the springs in the kit were correct, I wouldn't be able to set the pressures correctly. I will recheck everything I installed. I'm worried that there is a internal air blockage somewhere. Thank-you for your help.
CORRECTION: I thought if the springs in the kit were NOT correct, I wouldn't be able to set the pressures correctly. Springs were a different color than the ones that came out. Still looking for solution to problem.
