Why does the timing belt move to the front of the sprockets when engine running?
1993 nissan maxima 3.OL i replace the timing belt and belt tensioner i start the engine with the timing cover off and the crankshaft pulley that's when i see the timing belt running a little off the sprockets do it suppose to run like that?

Slacken tensioner and push belt further on to crank pulley and camshaft pulley re tighten tensioner and turn over by hand check to see if it moves

i replace a new tension and it still doing the same thing how do i fix the problem?
