Why is my Haier washer making a loud high pitched noise?
Washer was plugged in like normal and out of the blue started making a high pitched noise. Obviously unplugging the machine will make the noise stop. Machine will not power on anymore. Could it be that I need to replace the control panel?

No. The high pitched noise did not originate in the control panel but rather in a part of the machine that was chafing or rubbing against something. And now the mechanism is stuck. Check for that first before messing with a control panel.
