Why is my TV picture dim
I have a Sanyo DP55441 55" LCD HD Flat Panel TV. When standing next to the TV , it was always quite warm. 2 days ago, a burnt wire smell started coming from the TV. It went away fairly quickly, and the heat was no longer present. The next day I was watching TV and the picture dimmed so much I could barely see it. I went into the menu and started changing settings; Brightness,Contrast, Hue, Saturations. I was able to adjust to a somewhat better picture, although nowhere near as bright as Before. When I tried adjusting the backlight settings, there was little, if any, noticeable change in the picture. Watching the TV after dark is fine, but during daylight it is very hard to see the picture. Is there a fix or should IStart saving for a new TV, w hich won't be a SanyoThanks David

Hello David
It sounds that the back light inverter board, and back light CCFL lamps to your TV need to be checked. It will be best to contact any service technician, because to check its back light CCFL lamps, you must disassemble the display panel, a very skilled work indeed. If you are sound in electronics, you can check it. If you wish to know more http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ check this link. It has details. Pull up older posts there by its left side bar, or see it in 'Timeslide' option.
