Why is the AWD front differential 'venting' fluid out of the vent tube?
This is a full size Escalade with a 6 liter engine and all wheel drive. The differential fluid is being 'vented'/ pushed out through the vent tube that comes out of the side of the front differential. The fluid is not leaking from any of the seals, and the differential do not make any noise. About a week ago I drained what was left (about a cup) of fluid, and I filled the differential with Mobil 1 Synthetic 75w90 (a little over 2 Quarts) then drove around (about 20 miles and not more than 50 MPH, and the fluid is still being pushed out of the vent tube. I have asked the Cadillac Dealer, the local (good) Transmission Shop and all the mechanics I know and no one has any idea why a front differential would be 'venting' the fluid out. Maybe someone here has an idea what is making the fluid 'vent' out of the vent tube?
