Why is there a ticking noise in my engine?
I bought a car two months ago and I well for not thinking straight one i changed the oil filter and ran the car.. I also flushed the radiator and didn't bleed it now there is some really nasty noise in the engine and its kind of a clicking noise but it sounds really nasty I dont know if its my pistons or not also my check engine light is not on I don't know what to do this is my first car can anyone tell me what is wrong with it before I take it to a mechanic shop so they can try to rob me like that ill know what is wrong with it thank you guys so much I really appreciate it

Richard, It could be something as simple as a bad belt tensioner to something as major as worn bad rod or crank bearings.
Best to find a knowledgeable buddy or a mechanic you can trust and have them diagnose.

my dad says it might be the pistons im not sure
Richard, if your dad feels the noise sounds lower on engine, it could be the pistons connecting rod bearings bad. If you would like to try and locate noise, take a short old broom handle, wooden dowel or even a piece of old garden hose and use it like a doctors stethoscope, wood/hose to your ear and touch other end to engine areas, probing around engine while running to locate where noise is at its loudest. **Be carefull around rotating parts**
