Why might my nail guns not work?
My dad gave me an older 16 ga Porter Cable air nailer and a cheapie Harbor Freight 100 psi air compressor. I used these two together for various projects around the house & all was well. The compressor stopped holding air, so my dad gave me a second, brand-new compressor - same brand & psi range. I started using that with the old nail gun and after a while (guessing 100 nails or less) it stopped driving nails. It punches the wood, but no nail comes out. It isn't jammed, but beyond checking that, I don't know what to do. Now, my dad also gave me a brand new Blue Hawk 18 ga nailer. I used that on my project and the first strip and 1/2 of nails went fine. Halfway through the second strip, I have the exact same problem as with the other - it punches the wood but no nail ejects at all. The compressor is showing that it is at a high enough psi. What could be happening to cause the same problem in two different nail guns this way?

Have you lubricated either nail gun? If not, go to Home Depot and get a bottle of air tool oil. It's in tools by the compressors. Disconnect the air hose from the tool. Pour about a teaspoon of oil into the air inlet of the tool. Reconnect everything and try it 10-20 times with no nails in the tool. Then try it with nails. Good luck.
That's great. I usually lube mine after I have used a couple of loads of nails or when they start to misfire. Don't over-lube them.
