Why won't my Nespresso Pixie red low water indicator light go on when tank is near empty?
The white light no longer changes to red when the water is near empty. I've tried cleaning the lens in back but it didn't help. Is light supposed to shine through that lens? It doesn't. Other than that the machine works fine, but I want my red light. Would descaling do anything to help? Any ideas? It was bought in 12/2012.

Merely out of curiosity is the light or lights bad? If there's a separate red light you'd need to take it out and use an inexpensive voltmeter to see if it's getting a signal.
Either that or look at it closely next to a light. If you see a bad filament then the bulb needs replacing.
