Why won't my saw blade go on tight. the mechanism that secures the blade won't tighten down good enough
The teeth on the mechanism that is supposed to tighten the blade doesn't seem to be operating properly. or i'm doing something wrong.

You need to make sure the blade is centered properly on the washer on the spindle as you tighten the nut. It can slip off while you tighten the nut. Tighten the nut a little at a time while you wiggle the blade to make sure it's seated properly in the washer.
