Wii remote cursor not working in Wii Menu
Hi All,
A very irritating problem with my wii has developed:
As yet the only game i have played on my wii has been guitar hero 3, and when I switch the wii on i navigate through the wii menu using the guitar buttons with the remote attached.
I have just bought tiger woods 2009 and obviously dont need the guitar. Upon detaching tge guitar from the remote it simply doesnt let me navigate the main wii menu, the only buttons that work are the plus, minus and home.
I've tried attaching the nunchuck but this doesnt work either. Tried re-synching several times, and tried two different remotes. The remotes are fine and synched correctly as it allows me to switch on the wii using the control.
Interestingly i can start the tiger woods game with the guitar attached, and then by disconnecting it when i get into the game, but this is not ideal.
Any ideas as to why the remote isnt working properly in the main menu?? i've also tried all the basic things such as batteries, checking the sensor etc.
Please help before i through the bas*ard thing out of the window!!

I had a problem when I unhooked my Guitar Hero guitar the cursor did not work. I could use the buttons but not the cursor, but I could navigate with the guitar knob. Then I finally realized that the plug for the sensor bar had become disconnected and I didn't notice. I connected and disconnected the other 2 plugs several times, but never saw that the sensor plug was out.
I find it very irratating to navigate the wii menu as well. It seems our problem is the remote is very very sensitive to the sensor bar. You have to swing the remote around a bit to find the 'hand' you use to click on where you want to go. also, I find that I first have to press A when the menu comes, then almost have the remote 3 inches from the sensor bar. I have also tried putting the sensor bar in different loactions. Like, if we are playing standing up, we put the bar atop of the tv, otherwise if it is a game we can play while sitting, we put the sensor bar under the tv, on the stand (this is a 20") Try moving yours around and find out what works best for you. But it is frustrating as I too find that the remote is too dag 'on sensitive!! Even though I know it's fussy, we still have the problem daily, doen't get any easier! I hope this suggestion helps.
I had not thought about using the nunchuck before. So, after reading your thoughts, I went to try it. Nope, it won't work. Sorry, hope moving the sensor bars works for you. That is the only thing that seemed to help us. :)
