I presently use a socket 478 cpu/motherboard with PCIe 1.1 slot. I plan to build a new ivy bridge based socket 1155 system few months later when the core i3 3225 processor is available here in India. For now, I propose to buy the HD 7770 card which I can also use in my new system later. I will also have to buy a rated Seasonic 520W PSU as this card can get fried in my present std 450W PSU w/o PCIe power connector. I can use this also in my new system later. Will the HD 7770 work in my present socket 478 system till I upgrade?
