Will not crank on cold mornings but after sun warms the car it cranks up just fine runs great once cranked it will crank allday but if its below 40 it will not
THERE ARE TWO POSSIBLE REASONS FOR THIS, ONE IS A FUEL PUMP THAT IS STICKING IN COLD WEATHER, (NO FUEL PRESSURE), THE OTHER A DEFECTIVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (ECT SENSOR), GET YOURSELF A CAN OF SPRAY STARTING FLUID AND THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS SPRAY IT INTO THE INTAKE, IF THE ENGINE RUNS AND DIES QUICKLY THE FUEL PUMP IS SUSPECT, IF IT KEEPS RUNNING THE ECT SENSOR MAY BE BAD, TO MAKE A FINAL DECISION ON THE ECT YOU NEED A SCANNER TO READ THE SENSOR OUTPUT TO THE FUEL INJECTION COMPUTER.
it could be anything but the poss problems i gave u are the most common based on my 45 years of repair experience, until u do the simple tests no way to really know, the computer for this is about $800 so not wise to guess.it could be anything but the poss problems i gave u are the most common based on my 45 years of repair experience, until u do the simple tests no way to really know, the computer for this is about $800 so not wise to guess.
all batteries have something called CCA cold cranking amps. This is kepth cause of the shields around the battery. Yours may be defective. On a cold morning when you aint starting , check the power on your battery using a multimeter ,, it should be at least 12.6 V
2. The heating wire. there is a heating wire that runs to the engine. I am not sure exactly where its located in yours. Have an auto technician look at this.
I doubth that the computer can cause that. The only other thing is the mass airflow meter sensor, but I doubth that as well. Check the heating wire and fuel pump for stattering.
