I placed the engine on the tracks followed by the tender, the candy car and the caboose. I made sure all of the wheels were on the track and the flexible power cord was inserted in the back of each unit.... I placed the clip under the trakks, inserted the telephone connection to the rear, plugged in the transformer to a live outlet. The light came on the control unit showing that it was receiving power pressing each of the buttons several times brought no response..... I have checked the following procedure a number of times and get no response....
