Will not turn on, makes a clicking noise
The red stand by light is on, when I try and turn on the receiver it makes a clicking noise and will not turn on. So far I have unplugged it and disconnected the inputs, after about an hour I reattached everything and still no luck.

The clicking generally means that the relay is trying to close but for some reason cannot.Usually, (but not always) this indicates a problem in the power supply such as a blown voltage regulator or a zener diode. This is not an easy fix and not for the faint of heart. If you feel up to it, at least try to locate a circuit diagram or even better a repair manual. I like Onkyo receivers. They are generally quite reliable and fixable.
