As far as I am aware the mouse you are talking about is NOT blue-tooth but a regular wireless mouse.
It came with a small wireless dongle that plugs into ANY regular usb port and does not need a cable.
Blue tooth does not usually use cables either as it is a wireless format but different to regular wireless
If your mouse is blue-tooth then you should ensure that your laptop or pc also has blue-tooth.
Should it not have blue-tooth then to use the mouse you would need to purchase a usbblue-toothadapter. this is not a cable but is classified as a "dongle" you that's true ! This dongle plugs into any regular blue-tooth port on occasion windows will detect and install the required files but some blue-tooth dongles will come with a cd that you need to install.
