Windows XP Freezes Completely
Since I started using the Wacom Intuos tablet, my computer will spontaneously freeze. Nothing will work, including cursor, task manager, nothing. I have no choice but to hit the power button and shut completely down and restart. If I'm trying to work on something, it's especially frustrating to have to do this repeatedly. I've reinstalled the software as well as the latest drivers. Nothing seems to help and there's no info that I can find on the Wacom website. If a fix for this exists, I'd like to know about it.

It sounds like the device is giving u an IRQ conflict on the computer, IRQ conflict has to do with the computer and the device and the communication. first remove the device from the program list then restart the computer then connect the device to a different usb port and install the device. hope it helps

Sounds to me like there is bad sectors on the hard drive, especially since you reinstalled everything and your still having random lockups. Bad sectors will cause information to not be read from time to time.
Try a different known working hard drive in that tablet if you can and restore it like you did previously and see how that works.
