With power turned on, my dvd will not eject from magnavox vhs dvd recorder (Model #106.64242401). How do I fix, or at least retrieve my dvd disk?
I turned turned off power strip for vacation. When I turned it back on, the power is on immediately and the selector between vhs and dvd appear selected at the same time. Pressing the open door button for the dvd portion of the player will not open the door. PS: I removed the front and casing but there does not appear to be any gears to rotate to open the door manually.

Probably the buttons contacts inside get "rusted" and stays in ON. Remove power plug. Try to open the front cover, remove pcb and clean all the buttons with contact cleaner, pressing them multiple times to get clean inside. Repeat this procedure 2-3 times. Dry all with a cloth and try testing. If not successful, repeat procedure or change the buttons. Good luck.
